If children, young adults and others can mount their own effective immune response to SARS-CoV2, is it ethical to impede their ability to access natural immunity by interfering with the natural progression of the virus?
According to the WHO, "Illness due to COVID-19 infection is generally mild, especially for children and young adults."[1]
Is the focus on future fast-tracked vaccine products blocking full consideration of the opportunity for natural herd immunity? Who is Neil Ferguson to say "The only exit strategy [in the] long term for this is really vaccination or other forms of innovative technology that allows us to control transmission".[2]
In regards to young people's and others' right to natural immunity, it's also vital to consider the startling admission by Heidi Larson, Director of The Vaccine Confidence Project, during the recent WHO Global Vaccine Safety Summit, i.e. "...We've shifted the human population...to dependency on vaccine-induced immunity...We're in a very fragile state now. We have developed a world that is dependent on vaccinations".[3]
This is a very alarming statement by Professor Larson, particularly with the prospect of other epidemics emerging in the future. We have to learn to deal with epidemics and illnesses as they emerge, it's not feasible to vaccinate the global population against every threat.
In a recent article raising concern about making decisions about this pandemic without reliable data, John Ioannidis notes that "School closures may also diminish the chances of developing herd immunity in an age group that is spared serious disease".[4] The UK's chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, raised the prospect of developing natural herd immunity[5], but this idea was subsequently howled down by Matt Hancock, the UK secretary of state for health and social care[6], and others such as Willem van Schaik, a professor of microbiology and infection, as reported by the Science Media Centre.[7]
Again, is it ethical to deny children, young people and others their opportunity for natural immunity, and to plan to make them dependent on vaccine-induce immunity, to in effect make them dependent on the vaccine industry?
This is even more serious to consider in light of emerging vaccine product failures, e.g. pertussis and mumps.
The international community must be assured that independent and objective thinkers are carefully considering the way ahead on this matter.

As a physician who indeed had no significant didactic time dedicated to vaccinology in Medical school I am in agreement with Ms. Larson, though I suspect that any "education" I might receive from her ilk would be considered misinformation at best by any objective observer. I think what Heidi Larson means is what I have worried about. When I was a kid, measles, mumps and chicken pox came around every couple years and we all caught them at some point. We developed immunity AS CHILDREN! If you catch some of these diseases as adults, they are much more serious. Now, an unvaccinated child is unlikely to be exposed to measles, mumps or chicken pox, and therefore develops no immunity as a child.
What Heidi is saying is if you want immunity today, you can only get it from a vaccine. If all vaccinations were stopped, there would be serious consequences to teens and adults catching these diseases, until normal childhood immunity was established once again
The thing is natural immunity is not the case so much as buidling a strong healthy body. We don't have natural immunity from a disease but a varying capability to live well dependin on the inputs to our body.
If we lack something we need, minerals, vitamins etc or if we are poisoned, affected by stress etc. we fall ill with varying symptoms.
But we get what are called certain diseases regardless again and again if we don't maintain an equilibrium at all times.

0.125 mg (5000 IU) a day on average is sufficient for 70 kg 154 lb body weight without obesity. This is about 8 times greater than what governments and many doctors recommend.
"5000 IUs a day" sounds like a lot, but it is 1/8000th of a gram = 1 gram every 22 years. Pharma grade vitamin D3 costs about USD$2.50 a gram ex-factory. A credit card weighs 5 grams.
Without proper vitamin D3 supplementation such as this, most people - at least in winter - have half or less (down to 1/10th) of the 50 ng/mL 125 nmol/L circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D they need to be healthy.
Robin, I am so rattled now by the medical industry, so lacking in trust, I’m questioning all interventions…even supplements like Vitamin D.
For years we’ve been told to cover up, protect from the sun, particularly people like me with pale Celtic complexions.

As a physician who indeed had no significant didactic time dedicated to vaccinology in Medical school I am in agreement with Ms. Larson, though I suspect that any "education" I might receive from her ilk would be considered misinformation at best by any objective observer. I love the part where she says "the medical education gets a half day on vaccines..." that's about what they get on nutrition and the bodies own immune system. Have any of your MDs talked about your lymphatic system and the important role it plays in immunity? Or what about gut health? I think what Heidi Larson means is what I have worried about. When I was a kid, measles, mumps and chicken pox came around every couple years and we all caught them at some point. We developed immunity AS CHILDREN! If you catch some of these diseases as adults, they are much more serious. Now, an unvaccinated child is unlikely to be exposed to measles, mumps or chicken pox, and therefore develops no immunity as a child.
What Heidi is saying is if you want immunity today, you can only get it from a vaccine. If all vaccinations were stopped, there would be serious consequences to teens and adults catching these diseases, until normal childhood immunity was established once again
The thing is natural immunity is not the case so much as buidling a strong healthy body. We don't have natural immunity from a disease but a varying capability to live well dependin on the inputs to our body.
If we lack something we need, minerals, vitamins etc or if we are poisoned, affected by stress etc. we fall ill with varying symptoms.
But we get what are called certain diseases regardless again and again if we don't maintain an equilibrium at all times.
if vaccines are stopped people would be healthier with less risk of disease. Big pharma etc. would be less wealthier and a good thing too.
