If they use these words within the context of better "preparing" for it, they almost certainly know exactly what they are doing, and it isn't in your best interests.

Btw: imho and in my totally unrepresentative, very personal experience, it - contraintuitively - often has even more power, to "attack" "only" the wrong idea ("next pandemic", "preparing") and defend a better position, without naming any namens of those who adhere a wrong idea (whether by error, or " knowingly"). Not naming names may make an argument much stronger, - and still everybody who has to know it "hears" the name, who is never named (possibly even louder, as if it would have been named). :-)
When people learn that virology is not a science that contagion is not how we get sick it does not just make Big Pharma irrelevant, it makes much of the 'alternative health' industry irrelevant too ('early treatment protocols' etc).
Like Big Pharma, they're also pushing their own drugs, supplements and therapies based on a fear based narrative which has no basis in reality. And in doing so they perpetuate the false narrative about 'viruses' and contagion which keeps Big Pharma in business too.
There probably will be a 'next pandemic' and it may well involve people getting sick and dying for real this time. This makes it all the more important to wipe the slate clean and start at the beginning - such as the experiments conducted during the Spanish Flu by Dr Rosenau which proved the flu was not contagious, and therefore no 'virus' could have been the cause.
When you are able to escape the 'virus' paradigm (superstition) you soon discover pandemics are either created out of thin air (media hype) or are the result of some terrible environmental disaster, industrial toxin or mass vaccination campaign.
According to a former CDC chief (sorry his name escapes me) the 'next pandemic' is going to be bird flu and it will have a 10% - 50% mortality rate. With 'viruses' already ruled out, we can look at other potential causes. Top of the list would have to be microwave poisoning from all the new wireless infrastructure being put up. Microwave poisoning causes all the symptoms associated with the flu (the flu being essentially the body's detoxification mechanisms, often in response to a poisoning of some sort).
Between a bird flu narrative (mainstream) and the gain of function/ bioweapon narrative (alternative) the status quo is maintained, Big Pharma (and the alternative health movement) get to keep their business models intact, and nobody will pay much attention to the towers-of-death being erected outside of their homes.
